About MAT Exam:-

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a consistent test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) and MBA Colleges to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600 B-Schools across India.

MAT Eligibility

  • The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent.
  • A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com, B.Tech., etc.) can also apply.
  • Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation which is different for different management institutes and universities.
  • However, there is no restriction regarding percentages for taking the MAT test, no age bar and no experience required. 

How to apply for MAT?

Candidate who are interested can choose any one of the following modes to apply

#1#  Pay Rs 1200/- (Rs one thousand two hundred only) from listed branches of Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, listed Study Centers of AIMA or from AIMA, New Delhi and Obtain application form with MAT bulletin/CD.


#2#  Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any Bank.

MAT Registration Form:

  • All forms received at AIMA will be scanned/validated within 3 days and the form numbers of such received forms will be available on website link
  • Further, your form will be scrutinized and if found in order, it will be provisionally registered
  • MAT registration form received later than the due date is liable to be rejected
  • Neither any correspondence in this regard will be entertained nor will the fee be refunded

MAT entrance exam 2013 covers five sections overall. Scores of first four sections compose the final scores. However, institutions might choose to consider the score of the General Awareness section.
