University of Mysore has officially declared the exam dates for K-SET Test which is popularly known as Karnataka State Eligibility Test, which will be held in the month of December. The KSET exam will be held on 08th December, 2013.First let me tell you about some detail about KSET Exam
KSET 2013 is an entrance exam, which is led by University of Mysore for defining the eligibility for Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) in several colleges/Institutions/universities (Aided/Government/Private) in Karnataka State. KSET center will led the test in 32 subjects at 11 nominated centers spread across the Karnataka State for the academic period 2013.
KSET 2013 Eligibility
Applicants who have performed or will be performing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) exam and whose result is still anticipated or applicants whose qualifying exam have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such applicants will be admitted conditionally and shall be deliberated eligible for the award of Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or corresponding with at minimum 55% of aggregate marks (50% of aggregates marks in circumstance of SC/ST/ VH/PH category applicants). Such candidates must complete their Master’s degree examination within Two years from the date of K-SET result with the required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as ineligible.
Applicants belonging to the General category are not compulsory to submit any Caste certificates / documents in provision of their eligibility along with printout of their application form.
Candidates possessing post-graduate diploma / certificate course(s), should in their own attention, determine the equivalence of their course(s) with Master’s degree of renowned Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities, Delhi website: www.aiuweb.org
AGE: There is no upper age limit for applying for Lectureship

How to apply for KSET 2013?
The exam fee for General applicants is Rs.1000/- (One thousand rupees only), for OBC is Rs.800/- (Eight hundred rupees only) and for Cat-I, SC/ST/VH/PH is Rs.500/-.
The applicant is compulsory to fill the bank challan form in triplicate (bank copy, K-SET copy and candidates copy). All the 3 copies of the challan form have to be submitted to any branch of State Bank of Mysore along with the bank duties (bank commission) of Rs.20/-.

KSET 2013 Paper Pattern
The KSET exam will comprise of three papers.
The exam for all the three papers will comprise of only multiple-choice questions.
The paper 1 and 2 is of 100 marks and paper 3 is 150 marks.
Paper 1 shall be a general paper on coaching and aptitude.
Paper 2 shall comprise of questions built on the subject selected by the candidate.
The paper 3 will comprises of 75 multiple-choice, compulsory questions from the subject carefully chosen by the candidates. Each question will carry two marks.
A good thing, There will be no negative marking.

KSET 2013 Syllabus
KSET will consist of questions from the relevant subjects on the pattern of the UGC-NET.
Syllabus for Paper I
Paper I will be planned to test reasoning ability, comprehension, different thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the applicant would be mandatory to answer any fifty (50) questions. In the event of applicant trying more than fifty (50) questions, the first fifty (50) questions tried by the candidate would be evaluated.
Syllabus for Paper II
Paper II shall comprise of questions built on the subject selected by the applicant. Each paper will comprise of a Test Booklet containing 50 obligatory objective type questions of two marks each.
Syllabus for Paper III
Paper III shall comprise of questions based on the subjects carefully chosen by the candidate. As per the revised guidelines effective form June 2010 by the UGC, New Delhi.
