CLAT 2016 which is also known as Common Law Admission Test is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 16 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes (LL.B. & LL.M.) CLAT is a non-statutory body created for the convenience of the students seeking admission to the various Law Universities in the Country under Memorandum of Understandings (MOU). CLAT 2016 is an online examination and candidates who are interested shall fill the application form from the month of January, 2016. Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008. Now there are 16 participating NLUs and following the practice the eighth Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2016) will be conducted by the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National University, Lucknow. 2164 seats distributed among 16 NLUs for five-year integrated law programmes and 558 seats distributed among 16 NLUs for post graduate law programmes.

Step 2: Applicants are required to fill their personal, academics and other details a mentioned in the form.
Step 3: Applicants are required to upload their recent passport size photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) and signature of JPG format within 100kb.
Step 4: Applicants are required to make the payment online through Debit/ Credit Card.

CLAT 2016 Eligibility Criteria
For UG Programs:
- Applicants must be passed by Higher Secondary Examination or Intermediate or its equivalent examination from a recognized University with at least 45% of aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates).
- Applicants who are pursuing for the qualifying examination are also eligible for the examination.
- Applicant must be below 20 years as on 1st July, 2015 and 22 years in case of SC/ ST/ PH as arranged by their respective university.
For PG Programs:
- Applicants must be passed in LL.B/ a 5 year integrated LL.B or any other equivalent degree in Law from a recognized University with at least 55% of aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates).
- Applicants who are pursuing for the degree examination are also eligible for the examination.

CLAT 2016 Paper Pattern
For UG Exam:
- The test consists of 200 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each.
- Total time or the examination is 2 hours.
- Applicants will lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer attempted.
- In the event of equal marks scored by two or more candidates in the CLAT 2015, the tie will be broken by the following procedure and order:
- Higher marks in the section of Legal aptitude.
- Higher age
- Computerized draw of lots.
- The Distribution of subject and weight age of marks are as follows:
