NID 2016 Application Form - National Institute of Design
NID 2016 is highly praised intentionally as one of the finest and research institution in India for Industrial, Textile, Communication and IT Integrated (experimental) Design. NID conducts an annual Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admission to its undergraduate (B.Des) and postgraduate (M.Des) design programs for academic year.
Following are NID 2016 Application Procedure
For General Category/ OBC Category:
Step 1 - Go to www.admissions.nid.edu
Step 2 - The Exam takers are required to download the application form from the website & fill the necessary information mention in the form.
Step 3 - Applicants must post to NID/ handed over physically with self attested sustaining documents after completion of form.
Step 4 - Candidates must submit an DD of Rs 1500/- in favor of ‘National Institute of Design’ from any Nationalized Bank which is payable at Ahmadabad.
Step 5 - Students are required to write their name and address behind DD without fail.
Step 6 - Students of OBC should submit their non-creamy layer certificate from Collectorate as per the given format in website with their application form.
Step 7 - Applicants are requires to issue their certificate after March 31, 2014. Failing to submit their certificate their application form will be rejected.
For SC/ ST/ PH Categories:
Step 1 - Go to www.admissions.nid.edu
Step 2 - The Exam takers are required to download the application form from the website & fill the necessary information mention in the form.
Step 3 - Applicants must post to NID/ handed over physically with self attested sustaining documents after completion of form.
Step 4 - Candidates must submit a DD of Rs 750/- in favor of ‘National Institute of Design’ from any Nationalized Bank which is payable at Ahmadabad.
Step 5 - Applicants are required to write their address and name behind DD without fail.
Step 6 - SC/ST category applicants must attach applicable certificates of Caste/ Category from the District Collectorate as per the Government of India rules/ format, or else the application form will be discarded.
Step 7 - PH (Physically Handicapped) category applicants are required to submit certificate from the Chief Medical Officer (at least 40% disability).
Step 8 - Applicants of M.Des who are applying for two disciplines must send two separate application forms along with two separate sets of DD and two separate documents in two separate envelopes. Any application form not accompanied with set of relevant documents will be rejected.

- B.Des. Hall Ticket (both copies) appropriately filled in with recent passport size photographs.
- Self attested copies of SSC & HSC mark sheets (those who are studying at present in HSC, must submit bonafide certificate from the school/ college).
- Self attested copy of relevant certificate indicating Date of Birth (Upper age limit as on 1st June, 2015 is 20 years for General category and for reserved categories relaxable by 3 years).
- For Reserved Categories: The candidates born on or after 1st June, 1992 are eligible.
- For General Category: The candidates born on or after 1st June, 1995 are eligible.
- Self attested copy of relevant Caste/Category certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ ST/ PH/ OBC non-creamy layer candidates wherever applicable.
- M.Des Hall Ticket (both copies) appropriately filled in with recent passport size photographs.
- Self attested copies of SSC, HSC, completed years of Graduation and Degree certificate / Passing certificate / Provisional certificate (those who are studying at present in final year of graduation must submit bonafide certificate from the college).
- Self attested copy of relevant certificate indicating Date of Birth (Upper age limit as on 1st June, 2015 is 30 years for General category and for Reserved categories relaxable by 3 years)
- For General Category: The candidates born on or after 1st June, 1985 are eligible.
- For Reserved Categories: The candidates born on or after 1st June, 1982 are eligible.
- Self attested copy of relevant Caste/Category certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ST/PH/OBC non-creamy layer candidates wherever applicable
Advertisements
- Prescribed percentage of seats are reserved for applicants belonging to various reserved categories scheduled as per the norms of the Government of India.
- Number of seats in the B.Des. is expected to be 100 (includes reserved categories) and for the M.Des it is 275 (includes reserved categories).
- Both for B.Des and M.Des the Institute will draw separate waiting lists with approximately 10 percent of the total number of seats available.
