AILET 2015-2016 Exam Dates | Application Form


All India Law Entrance Test (AILET 2015-2016) is a paper base law entrance examination conducted by the National Law University (NLU) for the admission of students in different law programmes namely included B.A. LLB, LL.M and Ph.D programmes. Applicants who are interested can fill up the application form from 1st week of January, 2015. Out of total seats about 80, 70 seats are reserved on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET 2015-2016) and 10 seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination. There is also reservation of seats for students, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Persons with Disabilities.

AILET 2015 Eligibility Criteria


For Five-Year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Program:

  • Candidates must be passed with Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with at least 50% of aggregate in the examination.

  • Applicant who is appearing for the 12th examination can also apply for the qualifying examination.
  • Applicants below 21 years as on July 1, 2015 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates) can eligible for the examination.

For LL.M program:


  • Applicant must be passing in LL.B or equivalent degree with at least 55% of marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability).
  • Applicants appearing in final LL.B. examination in April/May 2015 can also apply for the examination.

For Ph.D program:


  • Applicant should pass the LL.M degree with minimum of 55% of marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability).

Step No. 2 - Click on “Apply online”

Step No. 3 - The Applicants are required to read the information and click on “How to Apply Online” option.

Step No. 4 - After reading the instruction ,go to “Create an account”

- Applicant is required to register themselves with using their valid email ID and create a password.

Step No. 6 - Applicants are required to fill in their personal, academic and other details a mentioned in the form.

Step No. 7 - After completion of form applicant are required to make payment either through offline or online.

Application fees:

  • For General Category: Rs 3125
  • For Reserved Category: Rs 1125
  • For Below Poverty Line: No application fee.
  • Candidates can make payment online by debit/credit card or net banking facility.
  • Candidates can also make payment offline through Cash Payment at Post Office:
    • Candidates can pay AILET Application fee offline by selecting ‘Cash Deposit at Post office’ on the ‘payment’ page of the AILET Application form.
    • Select the requisite branch, city and then download the deposit slip.
    • You can then make the application fee payment at the requisite post office and keep a part of the slip as proof of payment.

AILET 2015 Selection Process:

Applicant must secure at least 40% (30% for SC and ST candidates) of the entire marks in the All India Law Entrance Test to be eligible for the admission.

If two candidates secure same marks in AILET 2015:
Then merit will be determined on the basis of marks in Class 12 or its equivalent recognized by the University. If the merit still remains the same, then the marks of Class 10 will be taken into consideration. If there is still no change in marks, then the one higher in age will be considered.

AILET 2015 Exam Pattern



  • The exam consists of objective type questions.
  • The duration of exam is of 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • The test will contain of 150 question of 1 mark each.

  • There is no negative marking in the examination.
