CENTAC 2016 Pondicherry - Exam Dates | Application Form

CENTAC 2016 stands for Centralized Admission Committee. CENTAC 2016 Pondicherry is conducted by the Government of Puducherry. It grants admission into the Professional Degree Courses in Union Territory of Puducherry. The courses include B.Tech., M.B.B.S., B.A.M.S., B.D.S., B.V.Sc. and AH courses offered under government quota in Government/ Self-financing colleges through CENTAC.
Admission to the “Government Quota Seats” in Private and Unaided Professional colleges that include the minority Colleges, will be according to the law (and regulation and order) of the Government of India, or of the Government of Pondicherry, on the subject. The details concerning the Colleges, for instance the number of seats, will be made available during counselling. CENTAC 2016 Eligibility Criteria

• AGE

For B.Tech., 21 years is the maximum age to apply.

• NATIONALITY

A Candidate seeking admission through CENTAC should be an Indian National. However, French Nationals residing in the UT of Puducherry and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with Indian Nationals, for the purpose of admission to all the courses.

• EDUCATION

Kindly follow the details in the table for the educational criteria for CENTAC 2016:

B.Tech Degree Course:

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech. degree course should have passed the H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu, or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC - candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely, Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/Biology (Botany & Zoology). Candidates belonging to UT of Puducherry, and who have passed H.Sc, (Vocational Stream in the area of Engineering & Technology) examination, conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC - candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely, Vocational subjects (Theory and Practical) and a related subject (Mathematics /Physics/Chemistry), are also eligible for admission to the B.Tech degree course.

CENTAC 2016 Application Form

Applicants who are interested must fill and submit the CENTAC 2016 application form.
Steps for applying for CENTAC form are mentioned below:

• The CENTAC 2016 online application form can be downloaded by the applicants from the website www.centaconline.in.

Providing the applicant’s mobile number is compulsory in the application form.

• A model of filled in online application is available for ready reference in the CENTAC website. Any other form of submission of application will not be entertained.

• Applications submitted through online shall be considered, only after receiving the print-out of online entrywith necessary attested copies of certificates, application fee as online payment receipt (Passport SizePhotograph to be posted on the space provided).
• The Print out of the online application shall be sent by post/courier or can be submitted in person to “The

Convenor” CENTAC office PEC Campus, Pillaichavady, Puducherry – 605 014 along with the onlinepayment receipt.

CENTAC 2016 Application Fees

• The CENTAC 2016 online application fee for one course `500/- (for SC/BT `250/-) for two courses is `750/- (for SC/BT`350/-) and three courses is `1000/- (for SC/BT `500/-). For example (1) Engineering only `500/- (2)
• Engineering and Biology Based courses `750/- (3) Engineering, Biology Based courses and B.Pharm`1000/-.

CENTAC 2016 SELECTION MODE - Selection of the applicants for admission to all the Degree courses will be based on the Merit lists prepared by CENTAC. This will be based on the marks decided by incorporating the ‘method of normalization’. Marks will be rounded off to three decimal places, to a base of 200.

CENTAC 2016 RESULT - The result will be the marks obtained in CENTAC examination decided through the process of “normalization”. The tie breaker methods vary from one course to another.
